Couples

by Claude Caron
“Life as a couple is not about waiting for the storm to pass, but rather about learning to dance in the rain.”

It is with this in mind that the artistic director of Ballet Ouest de Montréal, Claude Caron, conceived Couples. Featuring six dancers, this work is an exploration of the couple and a celebration of its various forms.  From lovers in the prime of life to old lovers, from relationships that are born to those that fade away, the cycles of couples and relationships are explored through music and movement, supported by multimedia effects.  It is an emotional experience that will engage the audience, reminding them of their own stories of love, joy and loss.

The first part of the evening will be enriched by a new creation choreographed by Denise Biggi, Mr. Caron's partner. Currently in creation, this piece will take a unique and sensitive look at the themes addressed in Couples.

An evening where dance becomes the language of the heart, capturing the beauty and fragility of human bonds.
